Summary0006627: Immigrants arrive/become hostile
Description5 dwarfs and goblin show up in first summer... proceed to kill a few of my dwarfs and then sleep in my beds.
Steps To Reproduce1) Make a fortress
2) Play to summer
3) Get unlucky
Additional InformationI was told this is a bug as I shouldn't be being attacked by other dwarfs and only one civilization is showing up in my civ screen.

I have a handful of hostile migrants hanging around the edges of my map. When I send soldiers to them, they don't fight each other.

Is it possible you're just being raided by bandits? If not, maybe the migrant selection algorithm is accidentally pulling bandits as valid immigrants? Also, goblins? I wasn't under the impression that the game was able to handle multi-race sites in fortress mode.

Also, there's been at least one report of a dwarven siege occurring in 0.40.01; it may be that civilizations of the same race are no longer incapable of declaring war on each other.

The thing with my save is that the immigrants aren't actually hostile. They didn't do anything when I had a bunch of dwarves stand near them.

Can confirm. First migrant wave was all hostile Dwarves.

I had triple checked beforehand that I was embarking with the exact same civ as I had started the fortress with, and all the original residents are 'hostile' but do nothing. Some migrants are hostile, others are as they are normally meant to be.

Can confirm this is still happening in 0.40.03. Had a "hostile" dwarf tanner show up in first migrant wave and hang out at the edge of the map

"Hostile" migrants will also bring pets, which interesting enough are not "hostile"

You can also butcher all those pets they bring as none do have a friendly owner in your fortress.

I haven't tried killing them or even sent anyone over that way yet. They seem to be content to stand around in their corner.

I did do some adventuring in this world before starting the fortress.

Edit: I'm going to wait until I've seen this on 0.40.04 for a save, but I've had some members of the same migrant wave be good, upstanding dwarves and others hostile.

Looks like it was probably related to prior adventuring and some badly retained flags. Should be fixed for next time, including patching up old saves. Migrants that are patched up from old saves might act a little strange at first, since their inventory items were not processed properly on arrival.
