Summary0007142: Traveling stranger does not stop after agreeing to join the party
DescriptionI ran into an NPC who was moving on the way to another town. I greeted him and asked him what he was up to, he said he's headed to some town to find work.

I invited him to join me on adventures, and he agreed. Except, he never stopped walking to the original town. He showed up in my companion list.

I chased him down and spoke to him again, asking him to follow me. He acknowledged, but again did not stop walking to the town.

Finally, I asked him to wait for me here. He stopped. Asked him to follow me, and he did.
Steps To ReproduceI haven't been able to find myself in a similar circumstance again, but I suspect finding a person mid-travel and inviting the person to your party will yield similar results.

Worth noting that this bug has a semi-obvious workaround, so it's probably low priority.
