Summary0008736: Tower-caps are immune to lava
DescriptionUnderground trees like fungiwood (those that look like aboveground trees) burn if lava touches their branches. Tower-caps can be surrounded by lava up to 3/7 and will not catch fire.

(N.B. a report from DF2012 look similar at the face of it, but is prior to the multi-level trees and hence marked obsolete)

This is somewhat annoying because there are few ways to get rid of Tower-cap trees that are in 7/7 water.
Steps To Reproduce* Pour lava into an cavern.

Are you sure it's tower cap and not nether cap? Nether cap has a special property of being a fixed cold temperature, so it is magma safe.

Yes I'm sure.
