Summary | 0010380: Soldiers without upper bodies present upon reclaiming forts lost due to all citizens dying on missions
Description | Was testing out the missions system with a 7 warrior embark. Sent them out on a mission to raid a necromancer's tower. Settlement crumbled to its end when they all died. Reclaimed the site with another squad only to find all 7 of the previous warriors shambling in from the edge of the map with missing upper bodies and in panic. Sent the new squad in to kill them and they did so. Sent the new squad out on another suicide mission, reclaimed, and the same thing happened again. Tried to reproduce it a few times on different sites but every time I tried, the settlement wouldn't crumble.

Add some detailes to 0010345, "Fort Fails to Crumble to Its End, Thanks to Raid", please, about those forts of yours not crumbling. That left aside, what about those previous dwarves you have found in the reclaimed fort? Were they part of the new fort? Aggressive against the new group? Did they always have the same type of injuries each time you repeated the situation? Looking at 0005763, are those injured soldiers similarly not susceptible to hunger, thirst or water treatment? They seem to be killable, though. Please take the save showing this issue, upload the zipped save folder to http://dffd.bay12games.com/ [^] and post a link to it here, thanks. |

I can't really add anything new from my experience to that bug. I didn't notice any different circumstances when my fort did crumble versus and when it didn't. They were listed as "hostile" and trigger the "An ambush! Drive them out!" message, although like usual "hostiles" on reclaim they weren't actually hostile. They did have missing upper bodies every time. Viewing their wounds actually lists every body part as missing though. I don't know if they were susceptible to hunger or thirst, but yes they were killable. Here is the save: http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=13247 [^] |

Lack of a upper body is often denoted to be lack of a body at all as this happens when you forcefully revive a already dead creature from its historical ID (by editing its status to be back alive) in which a update further to their health by striking any body part causing them to disappear. Also 0007769 (0.40.05) may be relevant for similarities in injuries procured in world-generation that are only recognized during gameplay & in a example of a migrant on 0009763 (43.02) entering the map without a upper body & suffering slowly. |

Huh. Looks like I'm going to have to perform more !!SCIENCE!! to see what triggered my bug. That said, this is equally bizarre, so I won't be surprised if there's an overlap between them. |

So, I did the !!SCIENCE!! and it would seem that the difference here is that all your dwarves died, as opposed to being imprisoned. Why this leads to the game treating them as active citizens is beyond me. |
