Summary | 0010427: Items prefer pedestals to backpacks |
Description | When I grabbed an item off of a pedestal and put it in my backpack, the item stayed on the pedestal, both graphically and in the [l]ook screen, but was also in my backpack in the inventory screen. I could grab the item again, but instead of saying it was in the pedestal, it said "Get <item> (sheep wool backpack)". Grabbing the item again did not result in a duplicate item in my pack, but neither did it remove the one on the pedestal.
Putting the item back on the pedestal results in /two/ items on the pedestal (both in the look screen and in the grab screen). Picking up /either/ of those gives you a single item, which can then be put on or off the pedestal properly.
There doesn't seem to be any difference between picking up an item with an empty hand and picking up one with a full hand so it immediately goes into your backpack.
Possibly related to http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=10373, [^] since the item was an artifact in a retired fort, but unlikely. |
Steps To Reproduce | Find a pedestal with an item already on it. Pick up the item. |
