0010447: Squad disappeared off the face of the earth, returned years later

They've finally turned up!

But it does seem strange that they were gone for so long (usually they come back much more quickly than this) and that on various screens they appeared to exist or not exist.

Is it a bug that you can't swap out a noble when they're travelling?

@Loci Fortuitously, I'm having this exact issue on my current fort and have a save. Sent two squads to raid a >10 pop goblin town two days away; one has completely disappeared from the mission screen but not my squad menu, the other is considered still traveling six months later.

Thank you for the save. The squads certainly appear to be in a confused state; hopefully Toady can figure out what caused it.
