Summary | 0001301: Squad go off-duty if you give them a move order they can't fulfill (can't find path)
Description | I am in a cave full with water, it is not easy to know which "islands" are reachable... I give a "Move" order to my squad. If the pathfinder doesn't find a way, all the squad members become civilians with the job "Store Owned Item". It's impossible to stop them from returning to the Barrack.
Steps To Reproduce | - Create a squad - Order the squad to move somewhere impossible - See them become Civilians

In my experience, this is not the case. I had walled off stairs in the cavern system that i was unwalling to get at some spider silk, so i ordered my squad (who were off duty) to move to just outside the stairs in the cave while I removed the stairs. The squad activated, couldn't find a path (because there wasn't one), then went and hung out in the meeting hall until the wall finished deconstructing. At that point, they headed down the stairs to the caves. |

Maybe it has something to do with water / swimming ? |

I have the same question as in 0001302: Is your squad's alert state Inactive or Active/Training? |
(0004129) OzoneGrif (reporter) 2010-04-18 15:39 |
I just tried with three different alerts : Inactive, a burrow restriction, and Active/Training. It makes no difference. They don't really care about which alert mode they are in. Which doesn't surprise me since I took direct control of their orders. (Why is that Dwarf wearing a Barrel of wine on the combat zone??? Drop that you Gnnnnn!) |
