My current save started as a 31.11 map, so it may not be effected by this issue (if it exists), but I have nine pages of announcements. :) I may start a new map to see if it happens to me. |

It might be particular to 31.10 saves. I was using a 31.10 save in 31.12. I should have thought of that in the additional information. |

Can you reproduce this in a save started in 31.12? |

What I found was that when a number of Dwarven caravan guards were battling an unkillable mud mountain titan, my announcements-list was never much more than a few lines, even though I had constant cancellations through civilians getting 'scared' when walking past the fighting area. I suspect because the endless stream of combat reports filled up the buffer. Afterwards (now the unkillable titans are killable), I'm getting longer announcement lists again, though I am noticing they aren't saved for long. |

Whenever combat is going on, announcements are eliminated from the list in seconds. It happens to me whenever a siege hits my trap line. |

@Foot: Its been happening in the arena from time to time since .31 was released. I'm surprised nobody has noticed it earlier and said anything about it. I didn't say anything about it because its well, the arena, and we know its not quite fully polished. I have noticed it recently in fort mode however. As for whats causing it, I've noticed that deaths seem to reset it, in the arena anyway. At least everything on the announcement log is saved in the gamelog. Not sure about combat logs however. |

OK, so I have a version 31.13 game which has the same bug. It doesn't seem to be related to deaths, since nothing has died recently. It is the 5th of Opal and the announcements screen has already lost the "winter is upon you" announcement. |

@boydstnp: Is anyone in combat? Or sparring? I'd guess that combat reports are getting combined with general announcements in some intermediate stage, which determines the oldest report to show in either screen, then the two are split up into their seperate screens. |

No combat or sparring is happening. I don't even have a military yet. There might be some other kind of invisible notification happening. |

As of version 0.31.25, there's a hard limit of 3000 announcements, and combat reports count toward that limit. I haven't checked whether or not this is still the case in version 0.34.11, but it's highly likely. |

This looks to be a duplicate of 0001430. |

It looks like it, but boydstnp said he has that problem without combat/sparring. I'll mark them as related for now. |

In the absence of further details, I'll assume this was caused by behind-the-scenes combat as in 0001430. |
