Did you draft your miners and tree cutter? Are the items forbidden? There's no need to be snarky, it'd be much more helpful if you could be more descriptive and provide further information. |

Also, did you use Dwarf Therapist? There seems to be bug in DT that at times causes that kind of behavior for hunters, miners and wood cutters. |

Was meant to be funny - I did not draft any of them, I was not using dwarf therapist. My fort was simply unfunctional from day 1. |

With regards to the miners and carpenters, I assume they had the appropriate job settings turned on? Does this happen on every fort or just one or two? |

Have the same problem with my latest embark, rather annoyed too since the dwarf's preferences turned out great. Managed to trick them into using the picks for a while by drafting them, but once they got thirsty they refused to mine their way back to the surface and after fiddling to try and get them to do their jobs none of them will hold onto the picks any longer after I enable the mining labor even if I do draft them. http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=3550 [^] |
