Summary | 0004593: shearing sometimes produces stack of 1 wool, which cannot be used
Description | Shearing an animal usually produces a stack of wool with a size of either 6 or 7. Then these stacks can be woven into thread (yarn). But sometimes you get a stack of size 1 (no brackets at all), and these can't be spun; they just accumulate in the workshop.
Steps To Reproduce | Shear lots of animals repeatedly.
Additional Information | http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=4302 [^] has several instances of unusable single-unit wool stacks in one of the workshops. The eastern one, just north of the eastern large pasture.

Is it a particular animal's wool that is giving you the size 1 stack? |

It is a particular species, I think, but not a particular animal. The workshop in the saved game has: Aban Suluszuntîr's wool Rakust Regonshen's wool Aban Suluszuntîr's wool Rakust Regonshen's wool Stray Ram wool Aban Suluszuntîr's wool Rakust Regonshen's wool Stray Ram wool Stray Ewe wool Stray Ewe wool Stray Ram wool Aban is a Ewe, and Rakust is a Ram. So they're all sheep. |

Can I add that a sheep butchered yield wool [6], but that wool is unusable. I queue a "Spin thread" jobs and they are canceled. No burrows. They spin the yak (etc) hair to thread fine. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. How did you get it to work greycat? Do you need a specific refuse stockpile? |

I have single stack sheep wool lying around ( ewes and rams ) which are leftovers from spinning jobs. I shear normal stacks of 6-8 wool per sheep, which get spun quite well, until only one wool is left over from the stack, which then yields a job cancelation with no job item found. The same happens to bone stacks. |

Once 0.40.06 is out, let me know if this still happens. I've changed the thread spinning code, but it is not 100% clear if it addresses this issue. |

Verified working in 40.06, although I believe this was fixed along with 0005816 earlier in the 40.x branch. |
