Summary | 0005809: Milk buckets not transferred to barrels sometimes
Description | After milking an animal, a bucket containing 1 unit of milk sits in the workshop. The bucket is moved to a food stockpile, and then -- usually -- within that stockpile, the milk transferred into a barrel or large pot, leaving an empty bucket. Sometimes, however, that last transfer never occurs. The buckets pile up in the stockpile, despite availability of barrels and pots. It appears that the trigger for the bucket-to-barrel transfer is acquiring a barrel of milk from your civ through trade. Once there is a barrel of sheep's milk [10] (or whatever) in the food stockpile, dwarves will start dumping buckets of milk into it.
Additional Information | http://dffd.wimbli.com/download.php?id=6164&f=milk-transfer-bug.tar.bz2 [^] In this game, my civ doesn't have camels, but I captured some and tamed them. Their milk sits in buckets (see food stockpile on F6 level), while other types of milk get moved into barrels.

This bug is different in 0.34.09. I'm not sure if I should open a new bug or stick with this one... I'll try sticking with this one for now. Traders still bring barrels with animal milk [10] in them, which work as expected. However, when I make my own milk stockpile and start milking animals, I get this: -oaken barrel <0000023>- > (willow bucket) >> pig's milk > pig's milk oaken barrel <0000023> > -saguaro rib bucket- >> sheep's milk > sheep's milk (candlenut barrel <0000023>) > =saguaro rib bucket= >> pig's milk > pig's milk And so on. (Each barrel contains one bucket, which contains one unit of milk; and then the barrel contains another unit of milk. Always from the same animal species.) Eventually I get milking cancellations because I've run out of buckets, which is the same symptom as before. |
