Summary | 0000588: Some syndrome effects do not work.
Description | Drowsiness has no effect. Paralysis has no effect, but I did once get it to say that I am feeling numb. It only lasted a moment though. Necrosis rots correctly, but the rotting of nervous tissue has no effect on a creature's capabilities. This might be related to the fact that remains do not rot away.
Steps To Reproduce | Get some poison-using creature to fight a dwarf in arena mode.
Additional Information | I only tested with inhaled poisons. I tried with START:0, START:1, PEAK:1, PEAK:10, PEAK:2000 and END:4000. I mostly used START:0, PEAK:1, END:4000. Dizziness works. Pain works. Blistering works. Fever works. I have only tested the syndromes mentioned here and in the problem description.

Paralysis definitely does work - in fact, being bitten by a giant cave spider is fatal because the paralysis affects the entire body and causes suffocation. As for necrosis, it seems to not have any visible effect until the body part has completely rotted away - a giant desert scorpion sting caused the brain, upper spine, lower spine, and neck to rot away, at which point the creature instantly "bled to death" (without even a single drop of blood on the floor). |

Looking back, I think I might have just messed up when setting up the syndrome. I was still trying to figure out how they work. Now I know that some symptom types don't like targeting specific body parts/tissues, and some require such targeting. |

Okay. Reopen this report if there are still problems, and don't forget to post your findings on the DF wiki! http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Syndrome#Creature_effect_tokens [^] I'm sure other modders would find the info helpful. |
