Summary | 0006478: Merchants sometimes refuse to leave map when they cannot reach depot initially. | ||||||||||
Description | Was streaming last night and caught a second or third occurrence of a bug I've seen before. Merchants who arrive while access to the Depot is prevented (by a raising bridge) will loiter on the map and refuse to leave before they go insane. | ||||||||||
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Have a depot (mine was underground on a clear 3-wide path). 2. Construct a bridge that can be used to block access (mine was a raising bridge) 3. Sever access BEFORE a caravan arrives. (I raised the bridge.) 4. Wait for merchants to arrive. (My merchants were elves.) 5. Merchants loiter at the edge of the map, complaining about no depot. 6. Merchants never leave, eventually going mad (bserserk or melancholy). | ||||||||||
Additional Information | No further restrictions on merchant travel were in play - this embark was on a featureless and flat glacier with no trees or rocks in the way of travel, and the merchants were never allowed into my fort to be trapped inside. The merchants were never attacked or harassed, and simply stopped at the edge of the map until merchants and animals went stark raving mad. Will try to provide video from stream, may be able to provide save but will have to dig through seasonal saves to check. | ||||||||||

Not a strictly wagon issue - the elves bring no wagons. Probably related to or shares cause with issue 871: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=871. [^] |
