Summary | 0008408: Marksdwarf friendly fire. Intentional??? |
Description | 2 z-level tall pillbox. Marksdwarf squad (approx 5) stationed near fortifications to fire on invaders that are pathing near the pillbox. Results in one dead Elite Marksdwarf and several hospitalized marksdwarves. They did fire on the goblins, the goblins did not return fire, and combat logs clearly show friendly fire, both from flying *bone bolts* striking marksdwarves, and later from marksdwarves engaged in melee combat with their crossbows. Either a loyalty cascade was resolved by the one dwarf dying, or he was killed and inflicted injuries without a loyalty cascade occurring.
None of the dwarves involved were issued kill orders at any time, nor did they tantrum. |
Steps To Reproduce | Have not tried. This definitely occurred under typical circumstances, sending marksdwarves to a 10x10 building with fortifications. I will attempt to reproduce this and upload a save with active combat logs.
I can only assume that a dwarf was in the way when a second dwarf fired on an invader, and friendly fire was a result of the projectile code. It is notable that the pillbox was square, with invaders being directly south-east. This may have increased the likelihood of a dwarf being in the way. |
