Summary | 0000893: faillure to flood
Description | On my map, I had linked a murky pool to some underground tunnels to lead it to a well, on the same level as the pool. when the tunnels and the pool had filled up to 7/7 due to rain, no flooding occured from the well, while this would happen in 40d.
Steps To Reproduce | 1: dig underground tunnels from murky pool, to site for well 2: build the well, on the same z-level as the pool. 3: wait several years for the pool to fill.

Conversely, I have a pond connected to a tunnel, which ends in a multi-level channel to a 3 level 6x6 pit. as it rains, my pond fills up --> flows in the tunnel --> fills the inner pool. It takes a lot of rain, but my water level is rising. I've done this on 3 forts now. |

ray10k, you'll probably have to upload a save for this one, or at least draw a diagram -- I can't tell whether "well on the same level as the pool" means the top of the pool or the bottom. |

http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-8438-floortomb [^] here is a link to the map, along with the (for the bug) most relevant locations marked. hope this helps. |

That's because your well is at the same height as the pond. Water doesn't flow back up to the SAME HEIGHT as the source, but ONE LEVEL BELOW. |

Draco has it mostly right Unpressurized water only flows up to one level below the source water. Pressurized water flows up to the same level. A murky pool is not pressurized. A river or screwpump is. |

"Unpressurized water only flows up to one level below the source water." Does anyone have confirmation that this is intended behavior? |

rivers are not pressurized either. I've already done u-bend testing on 0.31.01. I can't read Toady's mind, but I can say this behavior is consistent with 40d. |
