I think it may have to do with the addition of "characteristics" with names, though I could be wrong; performers that I learned the name of still suffered from this bug.

Related bug 0010354 is fixed in version 44.03, but this one is not. I guess the underlying causes are different.

Shows that in the middle of a musical performance, the name of the person simulating a musical instrument is blank.
