Summary | 0009942: Teleporting Bursts of Boiling Blood
Description | While investigating whether a material with a very high fixed temperature could produce dangerously hot constructions (it can't sadly) I was investigating what other behavior resulted from my adding [FIXED_TEMP:30000] along with the necessary removal of heatdam points to blood thorn wood. Logs and such didn't start fires when dropped, though I did boil off my booze by having them in my backpack. Then I picked up one of the blood thorn bolts I had fired earlier and shot a goblin, producing the amazing result of a burst of boiling blood! Ha ha, glorious ‼Science‼ indeed. Then while playing with this I noticed a rather weird result, despite having no blood on me: http://i.imgur.com/IdWruJH.png [^] Upon shooting a goblin with one of these superheated bolts, I noticed it saying I was caught in the bursts of boiling blood: http://i.imgur.com/8sO7hLL.png [^] At first I assumed it was just a text-swap where it was actually the goblin being caught, but it was assigning me as the target, and it was really difficult to get the effect happening mid-shot, but here you can see a cloud of boiling blood around me from doing this: http://i.imgur.com/1jbqdNE.png [^] Same conditions, no blood on me prior to shooting, none after shooting, I never actually got close enough to the goblins to get blood on me, but plinking them with bolts consistently results in this effect: http://i.imgur.com/ZkwMLdi.png [^] Chatlog with a couple of these: http://i.imgur.com/3BfZ9iA.png [^] BUT, I did notice that if I threw bolts at them, it properly listed them as the target of burst of boiling blood, and after having thrown a bolt it would semi-randomly alternate between the burst hitting me and it hitting them, the double burst in this case was the delayed one from the thrown bolt and then the shot shown in the log: http://i.imgur.com/eJEIDwc.png [^] So... that's a thing?
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Obtain a superheated bolt. 2. Fire a superheated bolt at an enemy. 3. Giggle at the absurdity of the boiling blood burst hitting you. Then: 4. Throw a superheated bolt at an enemy. 5. Note that after a few seconds they get caught in the boiling blood burst. 6. Fire more superheated bolts and note that the effect switches back and forth between you and your target fairly randomly.
Additional Information | Save is here: http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=12305 [^] Should be several bolts in my inventory, crossbow in hand, game has my mods and such obviously, but this behavior should take place if you were say, on fire and shooting someone or something similar, sorry about the mess, the camp is full of goblins and such from the nearby pits, but they make handy test subjects!
