0005787: Missing dwarves cause no negative thoughts
If you kill a dwarf with a drawbridge out of sight of all other dwarves, the dwarf goes missing since there's no corpse. Once the dwarf is reported missing you can make a slab for him/her to prevent a ghost, yet no negative thoughts will occur in any of the dwarf's friends or relatives. This lets you wipe out undesirable dwarves without any repercussions.

The issue this report centers around sounds like a suggestion, not a bug. What sounds buggy is that you can build slabs for dwarves that aren't confirmed dead.

From the 0.34.07 release notes: "Slab to missing allowed, once missing status has been announced (unless from reclaim, then you can always do it)". This was to fix bug 0005130, "Magma-destroyed corpses are always 'missing,' can't carve slab to prevent ghosts". So being able to build slabs for dwarves who aren't confirmed dead isn't a bug, though it looks like it's the wrong way to fix bug 0005130. Probably a better way of fixing it would have been that slabbing of a corpseless dwarf is allowed once the ghost shows up.
