Summary | 0004540: [VOLUME: 0] initially has no effect in Linux
Description | If you set VOLUME to 0 in init.txt the sound is still at an audible volume when then game starts, even though going to the volume setting screen shows the volume control at 0. You have to change the volume up and then back down for the game to notice that it should be at 0. This is on Linux.

Is your setting [VOLUME:0] or [VOLUME: 0] ? I don't know if the space makes a difference in this case, but I'd double-check. |

I've tried both the Linux and Windows (using Wine) builds, using the same init.txt file (symlinked). With volume:0, the Windows build doesn't play sound, but the Linux build does. |

Still in 40.23. Linux 32b Ubuntu 14.04 here. With music still playing after [VOLUME:0], I used [SOUND:NO] instead. No music now, "Music and Sound" is even greyed out and inaccessible. |

Note that it ignores any value, not just 0. Still present in 44.12. |

Still present in 47.05, as well. The initial number of the volume in the ingame menu does correctly draw from the init file. But until you CHANGE the volume in the menu, all music plays at a full 255 worth of volume. |
