| Summary | 0007808: Every time the game gets past a certain point in the next day the game crashes. | ||||||||||
| Description | Every time one particular save file I let it reach past a certain point past the day I'm on, the game crashes. which is annoying because I'm REALLY far in. checking the error file gives the message "succession traveler placed out of bounds" several dozen times. I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. | ||||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Unknown, have not seen on other save files. This one however it occurs every time when I let the game advance past a certain point the night following where I have the game saved at. | ||||||||||
| Additional Information | Only modification to the raws from default is installation of this mod: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=140713.0 [^] which mostly only enables using races you can't normally, so that seems unrelated. | ||||||||||

I have confirmed through testing, that it seems to be the day advancement that is causing the crash. I think I reached the point where its one in game year from when I started or something. I copied the files, retired, and when I tried to continue going it crashed when the calendar started up. once again, I would be more than happy to provide the files if someone can tell me how to post them. |

If I had to take a guess, the game is trying to do something in the background that it can't do or isn't allowed to for some reason. I have no idea what though, but it seems to happen at the same point no matter what. Or maybe it hit an overflow error with the date somehow? Its pretty consistent about it though, no matter HOW I tried to get it past that day, so it seems clear that either something is happening on that day, at that exact time that is causing it to crash, or the act OF advancing it to that point is causing it to crash. I have no idea what the problem would be though. In any case I can't continue to use this save until it gets fixed, so this really sucks. |
