Does this happen when assigning the nicknames from the in-game interface, or does it only happen when you use external utilities such as Dwarf Therapist?

Dwarf Therapist. I will test with in-game adding but I will have to check how it is done with the original DF "interface".

Select the dwarf using 'v' (or 'u' then 'c'), then press 'z' for status, then 'y' for customisation, and finally 'n' for custom nickname.

I reproduced with naming using utility and later renaming. I will try without any DT use.

No I made very small test without results (I stopped playing DF due to inability to move military without attacking every single enemy so further tests are extremely unlikely)

Not sure about your email - might want to verify if you still have the one you registered with, or check your spam settings.

I'm resolving this for now - if you find it DT wasn't responsible for the problems, then reopen this report and post your findings.
