Using Windows 8.1 and DF version 40.09, my mouse does work... sometimes. Literally it will work for one set of designate commands and then fail for the next set at times.

Interesting. Maximizing the window and then minimizing it again (so the window was the same size as before) fixes the issue permanently.

Maybe the issue occurs because I resize my DF window manually after launch, and it doesn't properly adjust the clickable area until maximize/minimize triggers?

Possibly a duplicate of http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=2837 [^] and unrelated to Win 8 (just coincidence)?
