Summary0008325: Butchering animal inside cage slows game to a crawl
DescriptionI attempted to butcher a goose inside a cage. After the dwarf started to lead him, the game slowed to a crawl (9-10 fps). Cancelling the job fixed it.
Steps To ReproduceMark caged creature to be slaughtered, wait for the dwarf to come get it.
Additional InformationI was playing this with no raw modifications, though I had DFHack which I used for a few interface enhancements.

Was the cage sitting in a stockpile, or was it built?

Also, poorly-written DFHack scripts are absolutely capable of creating lag similar to what you're seeing - does it happen without DFHack?

It was sitting in a stockpile.

I've played past the save, but I'll try to see if I can make another save.

Okay, I've tested it in a new fort.

Before marking for slaughter, the FPS rate was about 140 - 150 with a few lag bumps.

With DFHack:
The first one dropped the FPS rate to a steady 90.
The second one did nothing to the FPS rate. (this was after everything froze)

I then uninstalled DFHack and switched the order...

Without DFHack:
The first one dropped the FPS rate to a steady 95.
The second one did nothing. (after everything froze, again)

The fort when I first noticed it had the FPS rate steadily at 45 or so, and it dropped to 10 when the dwarf started to lead it.

Please upload a save that reproduces the problem (with no use of DFHack) to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] and post the link here.

I'm not sure if the lag is related to slaughtering these animals. Have you tried butchering them a week or so later (in-game)? I did notice some lag when first unpausing, but the FPS rate reached 150 again by the time the first animal was slaughtered.
