Summary | 0002967: Wait key needs to be pressed constantly to advance time
Description | Before the wait key (.) had to be held down to advance time. Now I need to mash it to get time to go by. (Like you see a goblin near you, to make him charge after you you need to mash the . button, each press advances time one step and holding it has no effect.
Steps To Reproduce | Just boot up adv mode and find another creature (moving things have the best effect.) and hold . the creature should only move one step per button press or whatever. Next try holding . the time will simply advance once turn and nothing more. Smoke from fire is a really good way to demonstrate this.

Have you tried altering the key repeat settings in keybindings? |

No, it should be on by default however and movement keys work fine held down... but the wait key just moves time one step even if you held it down for a while. |

In an unchanged DF 0.31.12, most of the various MOVE keybindings are set to repeat_fast. A_MOVE_WAIT (key 5/numpad 5) is set to repeat_slow. A_WAIT (key .) is set to repeat_not. As such, the described behavior seems to be intended - you can have time pass by holding 5, or changing the keybindings to have one of the wait keys to repeat faster. |

Does that clear things up, toybasher? "It should be on by default" is an opinion, not a basis for a bug report. |

I can confirm what Knight Otu writes. This is a non-issue =] Resolved. |
