Summary | 0003979: Hives immediately fill with thousands of bees.
Description | I tried building some stone hives in the mountains. I haven't seen any wild beehives, so I wasn't expecting much, just wanted to try it out. When I checked in later, the hive contained 12208 live honey bees. I tried building a few more hives, and sure enough some of them also had well over 11000 bees in them. Is this normal...?
Steps To Reproduce | Build stone hives, and place them. Wait for a bit and check back on em.

I just noticed a dwarf with "install colony into hive" job, who is sitting around in a outdoors area. Are natural colonies invisible? If this is the case then this was expected behavior. |

This seems intentional. Wild hives look like ant mounds. |

Dwarves carry that many bees over from a bee colony (check their inventory when they're coming back), so that seems normal. What does NOT really seem normal is that when I watched a dwarf split a hive, the original hive had the same bee population that it did before, and the new hive ALSO had that population. |

I think the problem was I just couldn't see the native bee hives. |

See 0003981 for the install job never completing (dwarf standing around in the middle of nowhere). |

They are kind of hard to spot, the little circles. Reading the comments I'm assuming this one is resolved. |
