Summary0007980: Farmer Dwarfs are teleported out of the Fortress when seen by Goblin
DescriptionTwice during the same siege...Farmer is in an enclosed farm (only open at the roof) planting seeds. Sees (or is seen by Goblin Maceman), first message is:
Kel Zegkonos, Craftsdwarf cancels Plant Seeds: Interrupted by Goblin Maceman.

I Z, to go to the area, find no sign of blood, Goblin, or dwarf. Through the user menu, I zoom to the creature, to find him outside the fortress, roughly 20 squares and 1 z-level away from the farm/site of attack. There is NO path to get there.
Steps To ReproduceThe planter before him had the same thing happen, roughly 2 minutes earlier!

Creatures can climb now. Are you sure the dwarves didn't climb out?

Hmm..It may be possible, but the non-roofed portion has constructed walls, so I don't think they could have climbed up the wall and out (eg, towards the Goblins) that quickly. I will have to see if there is an exposed climbable wall.

How could I prove/disprove the climbing theory?

The only walls that aren't climbable are smoothed natural (non-constructed) walls.

To test the theory, you could completely enclose the roof area, or you could keep an eye on the dwarf.

Even smoothed natural walls can be climbed 1-z level. However, this sounds like it's linked to http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=6903. [^]

I don't really see how it's linked to

Dwarf didn't run into hazardous terrain, but climbed out, which is perfectly valid.

Yes, this is the intended result of the behavior that causes dire problems elsewhere.

More oddness...somehow a Goblin managed to teleport or climb in...over smoothed natural stone, and through a raised bridge. I wasn't watching closely enough, so I can't prove exactly where/when he came through. :(
