0009102: Game Crashes seemingly at random

Description

DF crashes, usually some time a few months after embark. It freezes up then windows simply says DF has "stopped working" and it closes a few moments later. It can happen during a save but I have tried not saving at all and it still happens. I have tried it with vanilla DF, Lazy Newb Pack and Masterwork. Sometimes the fort lasts long enough for trade to arrive, so it probably isn't a season change problem. I never had this problem with DF before 0.40.

(0033171) indyofcomo (reporter) 2015-11-24 06:25	I also have this issue. 2-3 times it has happened during game play(no obvious event at that time,) and 2-3 times during save. All the times of the save crash it has happened during the "cleaning objects" step. I have also never had a problem with DF before. I have had this problem with 2 different save games. I should note that both were the only save--after experiencing problems for a while I reinstalled the whole thing, wiping my save and world.

(0033174) lethosor (manager) 2015-11-25 18:37	indyofcomo: Are you sure it's not a common issue like 0008719? In this case, if you're unable to diagnose the issue, I'd recommend opening a new report and linking to your save - we can't assume two "DF crashes randomly" reports are the same issue.
