Summary0004191: job item lost or destroyed, beekeeping fail
DescriptionFPS falls through the floor when my beekeeper fails to put 2 and 2 together. I have pots, I have jugs, I have colonies ripe with honeycomb & jelly. I also have message spam from a stubborn beekeeper who isn't doing his job right. So no honey and no mead.

Reminder sent to: TerryDactyl

What does 'fails to put 2 and 2 together' and 'isn't doing his job right' actually mean?

What job is getting cancelled? What workshop is it generated from, if any? What exactly are you trying to do that is causing this?

I wasn't actively trying to do anything. It just started on its own when the hive matured....

Problem solved. It was related to a hive sealed inside the fortress by constructed walls, floors & doors. Strangely, deactivating its collection still prevented other mature hives from collecting theirs. When I removed the door, my beekeeper collected the products normally.

Thanks for the follow-up. I'll leave it open because it probably shouldn't be generating jobs for inaccessible buildings (the hives).

I have this too and the parent. Hive is empty, beekeeper constantly spamming 'Job item lost or destroyed'

I think wild hives are dying from natural causes or something. This seems to make any beekeeper pathing to them start spamming or freeze up until you remove them from the job/ unbuild the hive box.

I've noticed that my beekeepers start spamming cancelations whenever they are unable to reach a wild hive to install in one of the artificial ones.

I can confirm that when you have 30 hives the amount lag is almost game breaking when this occurs, with hundreds upon hundreds of cancellations. Eventually, as there is no way to determine which hive is acting up, I resorted to deconstructing all the hives which stopped this.
Sadly, this bug is gamebreaking for the beekeeping industry, which is otherwise very cool.

My stockpile with only honey and honey jelly selected is also not working. The honey filled jugs stay in the presser workshop, cluttering it up.

Finally, the inability to seperate unglazed from glazed jugs in stockpiles make the ceramic industry hopeless for any fort dealing with liquids, as (unusable) unglazed jugs will quickly fill up the tools stockpiles.
Oddly, rock jugs do not require glazing to be able to be used for liquids, even tough the glazing order is 'glaze rock/ceramic jug'.

NOTE : I only have one dwarf with beekeeping enabled as I am aware of the other 'conflict' bug with multiple beekeepers.

Can upload old save on request.

This bug seems to happen a lot when you use civilian burrows, even if the burrows encompass the hives and all your stockpiles. During a siege I'll often see thousands and thousands of these error messages.

I guess that it might be related to the beekeeping dorf not being able to path to natural hives outside the fortress?
