DescriptionTanzanite is currently listed in the raws like this:

That environment is incorrect. My research says that, "Geologically, tanzanite is found in metamorphic rocks, pegmatite rocks, and hydrothermal veins. Geographically, tanzanite is found in only one place in the world, Merelani Hills of Tanzania around Mount Kilimanjaro."

All of that data is being made available freely for any use.

The middle of the range for density was not chosen in this instance, because Google now gives me the average of several sources when I search for X "specific gravity" and that was the average given. Note also that DF's density is equivalent to specific gravity * 1000 (and specific gravity is much easier to search for, because it has only one meaning).

 It's worth pointing out that there is such a thing as gabbro pegmatite.

 Does gabbro pegmatite exist in game? There are three different theories on how pegmatites form and it seems like pegmatites themselves are associated with metamorphic regions:
