Summary | 0006301: Dwarf Corpse from adventure mode doesn't go into coffin properly
Description | Ok, so I made a fort. It got smooshed by goblins. I had some adventurers go kill the goblins so I could safely reclaim the site. Two of the adventurer's companions died. Then I reclaimed the site, and started the long process of burying all the dead from the fall of the first fortress and otherwise sorting all the randomly dispersed crap. I noticed that my dwarves were hauling a legendary corpse back and forth to and from the corpse stockpile. I looked further and found that both of the dwarves killed on the it's during the adventure mode experience had coffins claimed for them, and dwarves would get the job to haul the remains to the coffin. The problem is, when thy get there they just turn around and carry the corpse, or severed hand, or nose, or whatever part of the dwarf thy were carrying right back to the corpse stockpile. It isn't a problem if there is one or two corpses, but I have like ten total pieces of these two dwarves and I had to go in manually forbid them to prevent half of my haulers from becoming occupied hauling bits to and from the coffin.
Steps To Reproduce | Um. I guess have a fort, lose or abandon it, take an adventurer to the site, have some of their group die, reclaim the site, and then try to put the adventure mode corpses in the coffin.

Reminder sent to: EBannion Were the adventure mode dwarfs generated as part of the same civ as the fort/reclaim? If you remove the corpse stockpile, do the bits get buried? Can you engrave a slab for them? Are they listed on the dead unit list? |

1. I don't know because I wasn't the adventurer. I will try to find out from the person who was, but their narration at least implies that they were. 2. I will try that as soon as I get home. 3. I think so, but I will double check when I get home. 4. Yes |

Ok, I went into the save and got answers for sure to your other questions. First, I uploaded a save. It's after I removed the entire corpse stockpile, so one of the corpses (Rimtil's) is outside where the corpse pile was, and the other (Ersi) is being held by a dwarf who is just standing on top of a coffin on the floor with the one long vertical row of coffins. 1. The lineage of this site is actually pretty hilariously bizarre. 251 -> Kilrudzulban founded by 'The Mechanisms of Discovery', part of 'The Prime Paddles' (Dwarf civ). This fortress crumbled to its end when the last dwarf was killed by goblins. 253 -> The adventurer 'Tekkud Sirabkol' (member of 'The Prime Paddles') brings two recruits, Rimtil Rithatra (dwarven member of the human civilization 'The Tenacious Group') and Ersi Rakfilwicho (also a member of 'The Tenacious Group') Tekkud kills all the goblins at the site, but his allies die in the process. He leaves the site and retires. 254-> The idiot player (me) reclaims the site, this new fortress is founded by 'The Contested Tools', member of "The Curled Rock', a different dwarf civ. 2. I did several things. I removed the corpse stockpile under just the corpses that were broken. The dwarves picked them up, took them to visit the tomb, and then put them back into the corpse stockpile. Then I undesignated the entire stockpile. A dwarf went over, picked up a corpse, and then went to the tomb. When they got there, they just stood there holding the corpse. I assume they'll stand there forever, and I will update you if it's different. 3. Yes, they're both listed on the slabs screen. That covers your questions. I hope it helps! |

Thanks for the save. Most likely reclaim flags. The burrows & stockpiles can be added/removed with no change. The corpses can be forbidden/reclaimed with no change. Slabs can be engraved and built with no change. The corpses claim coffins (z-1), but simply do not get interred. |
