Summary | 0006434: Severed single tissue parts often strangely named
Description | When creatures with single tissue parts (mud men, iron men, bronze colossus) get those parts severed in combat they sometimes have names like: "Iron Man 1's left foot iron" I thought it might be when only chunks of a creature is getting knocked off, but the combat report for the above was: "You bash Iron Man 1 in the left foot with your steel mace and the severed part sails off in an arc!" You also get things like: "Iron Man's lower body iron" For some reason this doesn't happen uniformly. In the same fight I also got a normally named severed right hand. At first I figured it might have something to do with the gas inside the iron men, but the same happens with mud men also. Wasn't sure which category to put this in. Belongs in a few.
Steps To Reproduce | Remove [ARENA_RESTRICTED] from mud men and stage some fights in the arena.

Probably related to this one: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=200 [^] in that its an issue with naming body parts. I've seen this happen with anything that is made of inorganic materials. |

I just did a quick test to see if it only happened with inorganic materials by having gabbro men made of bone and still got the same issue. I got the bone by adding: [USE_MATERIAL_TEMPLATE:BONE:BONE_TEMPLATE] and changing the ROCK tissue to use BONE with: [TISSUE_MATERIAL:LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT:BONE] I also did two more tests which seem to show it's an issue with single material not single tissue parts. I added a new tissue to the gabbro men made of the same material then applied that new tissue under the ROCK tissue: [TISSUE_LAYER_UNDER:BY_CATEGORY:ALL:ROCK_TWO] With this I still get: "gabbro man's left hand gabbro" If I change the second tissue's material to sandstone the problem goes away completely. |
